Maladaptive Daydreaming: where wild minds come to rest
I am not going to say that I am fully cured, but I have found out a remedy that was a great help in reducing my DD spells!! My biggest problem was always catching myself and then finding productive things to think in its place. But after I took on this habit, it really opened my eyes in how much stronger my mindset is to be in control!! It is not therapy, no pill....something you probably would never even consider in a million years....
JUICING!!!
Now...there are probably a million things going through your mind as to what the heck I am talking about, but I am here to tell you this works. For those who have no idea what juicing is, basically it is taking fresh fruits and vegetables, putting them in a juicer, and then drinking it!! If you want more info on it here is a link:

Now, you may be thinking, ok, we are not trying to lose weight here, we want to get out of this weird, maladaptive problem we have!! Allow me to explain: I watched a documentary on hulu.com called "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead", (you can go to hulu, search it and watch it for free.) Basically it was about a guy who was overweight and and a vicious skin disease who wanted to get healthy. He heard of juicing and the benefits of it and decided to go on a juice fast for 2 months: that is everyday, 3 times a day, drinking nothing but fruits and vegetables, for a months. The results were amazing! Not only did he lose a ton of weight, but his skin disease went away, he was a heck of a lot healthier and then went across the country striving to get other unhealthy people to get on the diet with him!!
So, I thought to myself, this would be beneficial to lose my gut. So Why not? So I got a juicer and gathered up some cash and bought fresh fruits and veggies and set a goal to juice for about a week. I know this blog is long, but long story short, I started to feel a great improvement in my mental health! I felt more aware of what I was thinking, and more in control. Mind you I still had my spells, but they definitely decreased in length of time and I even find myself having ideas to dwell on things that are productive!!!!
So the question is: what is so special about juicing that is so beneficial? If you look at the link I posted, as well as do some research online, you will see that the benefits of juicing are fascinating. Blending fruits and vegetables into liquid gives you a potent shot of micro-nutrients that boost your body. Mentally, I felt energized, more alert and in control after one week (5 days) of doing it. I would get a lot more done in a day and set goals for myself that otherwise I know I wouldn't have made it!
So what am I saying? DO THIS!!! I would suggest take aside 5-10 days of strictly juicing; no eating solid foods, just juice. Great for cleansing the body and fortifying your mind. At first you will feel yucky, have diarrhea, headaches, but once your body gets used to it, you will feel amazing! There are a lot of links you can Google that will give you recipes and costs of juicing. If you cant afford a juicer, borrow one, or use a blender. The cost roughly for me was about $70 for 5 days.
Now if you are like me, you are desperate for anything that will help. I am here to tell you THIS HELPSS!!! I cannot stress to anyone enough the benefits of this diet! Now of course determination, focus (to the best of your ability) setting goals, and most important if you believe in God is faith and prayer, are all very essential and needed. But if you guys really want to see a significant change in your life and a jump starting change, do this!! I hope and expect to hear testimonies of how people were blessed!!!

You both are right, but I think maybe the point I am making is being missed. Overall, healthy eating is what has helped me. The benefits of juicing is that you get the results of the nutrients very quickly as apposed to eating and digesting.
What wrong with chewing? I mean we evolved to eat food and drink water, not to drink food. BUT we need much more fruit and vegetable we usualy eat. Thats the good thing with juicing.
I personally don't think it's the juicing that helped, but the fact that, in all likelihood, you were eating (well, drinking) much healthier foods, and less sugars and things, plus you probably juiced things raw, yes? Because I have heard that people on raw diets (whether 50% or 100%) Have a lot more energy than before they were eating raw. So I think it's that, rather than the juicing. But if juicing makes it easier for you to eat healthy, then go for it!
