Maladaptive Daydreaming: where wild minds come to rest
This may have been covered in another blog post, apologies if so, but you know when you daydream about a person from real life when you like them/find them interesting, and create conversations with them in your head and pretend you're talking to them etc, do any of you ever switch it so that you actually pretend to BE them? i have a long running fictional universe with characters that i have kept for years (whom i pretend to be too), but during certain periods of time, if i happen to meet…

from what i know i think i lot of us, in our daydreams, have
-main characters (whether you imagine them or pretend you actually are them)
-other characters
-a plot/storyline in your daydreams (an ongoing one, or one that is frequently changed)
all of which are inspired/influenced/triggered from time to time by things like movies, tv programmes and stuff, is that right?
well i was wondering, has anyone ever kept up the same characters and same sort of…

sorry i'm spamming with posts, but for those of you who use other people's appearances for their characters in their daydreams, doesn't it just feel really satisfying when you get the appearance just right? or is that just me haha! i've been changing my character's appearance a lot because i can't seem to get him to look how i want. i couldn't find any pictures of people who looked how i wanted him to be, so i took to trying to draw him (photoshop probably would've been easier) and it still…

was just wondering, have any of you watched the film 'Sucker Punch' ? i randomly thought i watch it one day and didn't know what to expect, but after seeing it, i realized how it could relate to md. it's circled around the main character, and shows the power of her mind, and what she can do in a fantasy world. one of the songs in the soundtrack is even called 'Where Is My Mind'. apologies if some of you have watched it and don't really like it.
if theres any other films to do with…

i'm aware that there is still much more to find out about how many people there are out there in the world who have maladaptive daydreaming, but for now i'm going to assume that the ratio of non-daydreamers to daydreamers is very different (as in theres wayyy more people who don't have maladaptive daydreaming)
anyway, my thought was this, what if it was the other way round? if it was 'socially acceptable' and 'normal' all over the world, to have these daydreams? and because people…

i think i just had one of the most thrilling daydreams i've ever had. i went for a walk around the hills by my house with my ipod, and i was listening to Pirates of the Caribbean theme music, Two Steps From Hell, basically a load of epic film music. i was daydreaming as my character, pretending i was in some sort of battle scene :p it was perfect, because there was no wind, no people out walking their dogs, just me and my imagination. although to anyone who might've seen me, i would've…
