How Does a Maladaptive Daydreamer Confide in Others?

Wild Minds Network is like other social networking sites.  After creating an account complete with username and password, you automatically receive an Inbox, Alerts ... and it asks you to add a profile photo.   I don't know about anyone else on here, but simply creating that Wild Minds Network account (proving that I was a "real person" with an email address) took all ..  and I mean ALL ... of the courage I had.

Adding a personal photo?  Absolutely NOT.  Somebody might be able to…

Thanks, but I'm only 32.  I barely remember the '80s because I was just a kid.  (Ugh.  Always great to hear that I look older, though.)  I appreciate your intentions, though.  When I first started having contact with Dr. Cynthia Schupak, I agreed to be the poster child for this condition.  I told her I'd put my face on it, so others would hopefully feel comfortable with it.  It's not hard once you rip the Bandaid off.  I used to hide in shame, but now I tell everyone I meet, and to be honest, most have been fascinated.  I don't have contact with my biological family, and I'm certain they'd be rude and judgmental about it, but everyone else I've met has been supportive and wanted to know more.  Most could relate in some way.  Everyone has to do what's comfortable for them, but living "out" feels much better than hiding for me.  Thanks again for your compliments, and welcome again to the site.
