Maladaptive Daydreaming: where wild minds come to rest
Just today I was commenting about the lack of research into MDD, and I have since come across something that has given me renewed hope.
The International Consortium for MD Research (ICMDR) is exactly what it sounds like: an organisation dedicated to empirical research into Maladaptive Daydreaming, to understand the phenomenon, encourage clinical recognition, and devise effective treatments.
It is headed by Eli Somer, who not only specialises in Maladaptive Daydreaming, but is in fact credited with coining the term. I would encourage you all to check out the website, which lists current and past research, media coverage and even an MD scale available in 37 languages. I hope everyone finds it as useful as I have:
