I found out that what really helps me take a break from daydreaming is to actually start LIVING.

I joined JROTC in my high school and I have a sense of direction in my life now. I have always sort of craved adventure in my life, and living under the circumstances where I wasn't allowed to even walk down the street due to my mother always saying that I would always get kidnapped or something, I began to cling to my fictional anime fantasies and becoming so obsessed with them, that I would try to make them come true. (Even though it was just a cartoon, and surely enough they wouldn't.)

I wasted 2 years of my life thinking like this, and now I really regret daydreaming it all away when I could've been enjoying life how it is.

So, just making little goals for yourself that impact you in a positive way every day helps, or even letting out your imagination through creativity may help also. Like writing stories or drawing.
