Hello everyone,

Have you heard about the reality shifting trend that's been going on on Tiktok for a while now? I just recently stumbled upon it and thought "well, that sounds a lot like maladaptive daydreaming!" here is an article on the subject.

Basically, reality shifting is supposedly "going into another reality" while your real self remains asleep, or a wilder version which involves a clone of yourself, but I haven't grasped the concept yet. It's also been said to be similar to lucid dreaming.

A lot of young people on Tiktok have been using it to visit their favorite fictional places such as Hogwarts, and live out a fantasy love life with a character they like.

So, I am wondering, what are your thoughts on this? The process to "get there" seems way more complicated than your average daydream!

Wow that's interesting! Yes their "technique" is definitely more involved than mine...which is just existing, basically. The idea that someone would have to work hard to daydream is really amusing to me for some reason. But it's different in that they're trying to have a particular fantasy. I find in my daydreams, I have a little bit of control over what happens, but for the most part things either stick or they don't stick. I don't really get to design it.
