Hypnosis could actually be the best way to "cure" people of daydreaming... As daydreamers who use kinesthetic movements to fall more easily into their daydreams, we are actually hypnotizing ourselves to not see the world around us, but rather the world in our minds.

Ergo, we are significantly susceptible to hypnosis, and if one had a hypnotist to hypnotize them to no longer daydream, it might actually work.

I've heard of people being hypnotized to stop smoking, lose weight, get over a phobia, etc, however those people are only affected for a short amount of time usually. Maybe because daydreamers are so susceptible to hypnosis we could use this side-effect of our daydreaming to cure our excessive daydreaming...

I hope your right but i  think hypnosis works on some people but not on others.  You can google online live hypnosis and find hypnotists that work through Skype.  I'm considering hypnosis myself.

How interesting! Lol, seems so ironic that the cure to daydreaming would be to enter a hypnotic mental state. What is up with us and these mental states we get into?

I think daydreaming runs pretty deep.....too deep to wipe out in one hypnosis session. In the interconnected web of thought patterns we have, there are surprise triggers everywhere. You get slammed with the urge to daydream when it is the most inconvenient. That kind of thing can only be helped with distraction, maybe even habit replacement, but not by tricking ourselves into thinking it doesn't exist. If you are a control freak and don't like letting others get in the drivers seat of your mind, it probably won't work for you.
