So I don't know if anyone has brought this up before but have you ever heard Evanescence's song Imaginary?  Music is a huge trigger for me.  I have other ones but I feel that music is the main trigger for daydreaming.  If you read my introduction I talked about an Ally Mcbeal episode about daydreaming that was my first introduction into someone else daydreaming like I do.  And then a few years ago (or more can't remember when the albumn came out), I fell in love with the song 'Bring me to Life'.  Everyone should know that song.  It was way overplayed.  But it so struck a chord with me (so to speak) and really hit home as to what I wanted out of life.  I wanted someone to save me as usual.  It's part of my dreams as well.

But here's the interesting thing.  When I bought the CD, other songs actually hit me harder than that song.  The first one was Tourniquet because I have been suicidal in my life.  Not as much for anyone to worry about but enough that I truly appreciated this song.  And more importantly their song 'Imaginary'.  OMG, how this song touched me.  It was the first piece of music that I had heard that touched upon my day to day life of daydreaming.  I don't know if I'm allowed to post the lyrics on this site, so please look them up if you're interested.  But there are so many pieces of it that I so relate to.  Actually I relate to all of it...'I know well what lies beyond my sleeping refuge
The nightmare I built my own world to escape'...as a hint.  I don't know where she came up with this, but it's as if she'd experienced everything that I go through.  Or maybe I'm reading way too much into it.  :-)  Regardless I consider it my anthem for this...whatever it is.  So if you're looking for a song to represent daydreaming and you really enjoy the musical trigger then I encourage you to look this song up.  It's really affected my life and was one of the first few pieces of the puzzle to tell me that I'm not alone.  Loooooong before I found this site.  :-)

I know of another song it's called Daydreamer by Lee Ryan. Look it up on youtube.

Good music taste! =) I realised that Imaginary could be about MD, maybe even accidentally about it, if you get what I mean, but I don't really try much to see if a song relates to me unless it's obvious....

What you want (especially "Every heart in my hands, Like a pale reflection") is apparently about the fans, Sick is about their recording label and apparently Lost in Paradise is an apology to the fans, for taking so long to release the new album.

Also, has anyone else realised that in Lost on Paradise it says "As if I were human" and Swimming Home says:

"But I hear them calling
I was looking to the sky
When I knew I'd be swimming home
And I cannot betray my kind
They are here - it's my time"

Making it sound a lot like Amy's subtly (or not) telling us she's actually not human haha

Yes, I always found Imaginary to be strongly reminiscent of MD as well. Perhaps it's an indication Amy Lee has or might have had it, considering that bit that goes "I lie inside myself for hours..." which as we know is one of the most prominent aspects.

Dunno if you're aware, but Fallen wasn't their debut, some couple years earlier they released Origin, with many songs that would eventually end up on Fallen, though slightly different. There's an extra verse in this version of Imaginary that goes something like "If you need to leave the world you live in... lay your head down and stay a while". I like this version better, actually.

If you like'em I hope you heard their latest album, it's really good and the lyrics, although still characteristically dramatic, are much more uhm, kinda cheerful, reflecting the calmer times they're going through, with the band finally coming together after many dismissals and changes and Amy being happily married.

I recommend What You Want and Erase This =)
