Hi everyone,

I'm someone who has suffered from MD in the past and have a vested interest in spreading awareness on the condition. The medical profession has continuously over-looked how seriousness this disorder can be keep confusing the condition with other mental illnesses.

I am a Masters documentary film student and am seeking to investigate the headway researchers are making in their exploration of the disorder, the likelihood of it being a classified as a psychological condition by the DSM, and open up the conversation to those who are suffering.

Alternatively, it would be interesting to hear from those who have used the disorder to their benefit or don't feel its impacting their life in a negative way.

I have already been in talks with Eli Somer, the man who coined the term 'Maladaptive Daydreaming' and am now searching for participants willing to share their story.

Your sharing my help someone who is unable to identify/understand their struggle, as well as shine light on how medical professionals are approaching this disorder. If you, or anyone you know is willing to help, please get in touch at L.emmett@edu.salford.ac.uk.

Thank you!

Laura
