I think my best friend in high school had MD too...

I was reading through old posts on here, some of them relating to people who daydream about fictional characters....and I remembered conversations I had with my friend in high school, when we were about 15.

She was really into a book, and shipped the two male main characters together. She really enjoyed reading and writing fan fiction of these two characters...and she described it as more than just that. She said these two characters were like her imaginary friends, but she knew they weren't real, and she didn't see them in real life or anything, but its like they lived inside her head and had their own lives going on in there that she would think about every day. Not as they were in the book though, but those characters with their personality, looks and supernatural powers....just living together as a couple in a normal life, inside her head.

I wonder how much of the population daydreams as much as we do, but doesn't realise that it is anything from just "person who likes to daydream". I never thought I had anything other than just being a daydreamer until a friend posted a link to an article about MD and I thought "Wow, that's me".

Your friend sounds a lot like me. I often feel as though the characters in my mind are kind of like my imaginary friends, with lives that are different from the ones they have in their source material.
