Genetic reasons for excess brain stimulation and MDD ???

Hi, This is my first post here: I've had MDD since when I can remember (maybe 8-9 years old) I also have other issues like OCD, ADD, insomnia since childhood but parents never paid attention as they thought children grow out of such things but they got worse when I started working being unchecked for so long. Also I have always wondered whether there is a connection between the sometimes odd, sometimes destructive, sometimes brilliant yet very similar mental patterns and issues people in my family exhibit. And after a doctor ordered me to do a number of genetic tests, I researched a lot about this (And made some guesses as I'm not medically qualified)

There is a particular gene that stands out COMT (catechol-O-methytransferrase) and the Val158Met polymorphism in this gene in some people causes excess "Dopamine" - a stimulatory neurotransmitter in the subject's brain. Sometimes, given the right environment this leads to excess brain stimulation and leaves you susceptible to OCD, ADD, issues with executive functions of the brain like task switching, decision making etc. (Nothing says it causes MDD because that's not even recognised in clinical psychology but hey all this is just speculation anyway)

Can I ask if anyone else has done genetic tests (something like 23andMe) and come up with a polymorphism in COMT?

People are welcome to google for COMT polymorphism or rather "val158met" or ping me to discuss more. Thansks!!
