I'm a very isolated person, and I'm an introvert, so my reality can become very embarrassing with people. First impression anybody gives when they see me is "oh my god, your a really shy person" with eyes wide open. Some will say mean and hurtful things, or get so smart. Other times, they'll notice my face appears morose and won't believe I'm a content person. Also, they will notice I don't say much, so they will think I'm not smart.
So, I often create worlds where characters in them don't do any of that! They are kind, gentle and accepting to everything that I tell them. They won't even get picky and laugh if my manner of speech turns out literal and serious at moments.
In fact, the characters in my mind are adapted from real people, who will definitely not turn out as chummy and agreeable like the fictional characters.
Well, of course your fictional friends are always on your side and never disappoint you. You created them to be that way. Real people are rarely quite as accommodating, if ever. Real people will always disappoint you sooner or later, no matter how good a friend they are.
To better understand yourself and your motivations, it may be useful to take a Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator test. It shows one of 16 basic personality types that you fit into. I suspect that most, if not all, of us here will have an "I" as their first type. "I" is Introverted as opposed to "E" for Extroverted. Those of us that spend so much time in our own heads are most likely to be introverted. "I" types are more rare than "E" types, but there are still a lot of introverts in the world. It is not a bad thing, despite what the more common "E" types would like you to believe.
