Hi, Alex. I've spoken to numerous professionals and received a full neuro-psychological exam. I can tell you for certain that this is not ADHD. They've all ruled it out for me unequivocally. This doesn't mean people may not have that as well. Lots of conditions can exist at once. However, this is not that. It's being studied by a respected doctor in NY, Dr. Cynthia Schupak. I trust that she would know if this were just that. It's called Maladaptive Daydreaming. If you want any more information, feel free to contact me. I've been studying this for a few years now.
There are so many different names and labels for these symptoms in western medicine. So you're right, they do overlap. That is why I am searching for an answer in alternative medicine because conventional medicine has left me with out any real solutions. In alternative medicine, like eastern for example, there aren't as many labels and they focus on treating you as a whole person rather than focusing on one part of your body. If i discover anything I will definitely let you know.

BTW, LOTS of conditions have symptoms like ours............like zoning out and inability to concentrate, etc. Tons of them. To name a few: autism spectrum, depression, adhd, adhd inattentive, schizoid personality disorder, and many many more. There's a ton of overlap in psychology. They're still different conditions. Believe me, if any of them were the answer I wouldn't be here. There wouldn't be a need.
