Having a low self image/ low self esteem can be a cause of it, and I feel that more women suffer from that.

I've also wondered about gender differences in terms of having MD, in content of DD's.  I hope Dr. Shulpak addresses that.

There seems to be a fair amount of males on the network here. There are a lot of men/boys who play role playing games which could be thought of as an organised form of MD I suppose. It would be nice to see some scientific numbers someday on our demographics. I think it was Dr Shulpak's study that sorted us a little bit in terms of the initial study group but there's tons more of us now.
