Maladaptive Daydreaming: where wild minds come to rest
I'm not sure if this goes for everyone.
Whenever I daydream for long periods of time, (3-4 hours) I start to feel tired. Not just my brain, but my body. I feel like I need to lay down; I feel dizzy, my heart pounds. When this happens, I can't continue daydreaming. I don't have the energy for it.
And even when I want to keep going, I just physically can't.
It's almost like my brain is telling me, "I've had enough."

I have never felt this before so I would not know
interesting post. i know what you mean. i know i made a blog post about this a long time ago, but i can't seem to find it. i think i might have deleted it. anyways, one time a few summers ago, i tried to go to sleep at midnight, but i couldn't sleep, so i daydreamed. soon enough, i heard my mom leave for work and it was 7:30am, meaning that i had daydreamed for 7 and a half hours straight. i physically couldn't daydream anymore, and i felt like i was going to throw up. i don't think i daydreamed for the rest of that day.
I've been daydreaming since I was 4. And it's not so much my creativity is tired, it just becomes impossible to keep going. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I don't get a lot of sleep.

Sometimes I feel dizzy and numb all over and get a headache after daydreaming too much, but that's usually after doing nothing but daydreaming all day without a break. When did your daydreaming start? I've been doing this for as long as I can remember, so maybe my brain has gotten better at daydreaming without getting tired. Then again, my brain--or at least the creative side of it--is never tired. I think part of the reason I have maladaptive daydreaming is because of excessive creativity/mental energy.
I've gone through the same.
I usually find when the daydreams are really good and have a lot of depth they tend to last forever, and you begin to ignore everything else.
