Perhaps "maladaptive" daydreaming is only a gift of the overactive imagination (which is a common trait for artists, writers, musicians, screen writers, etc) and once we learn how to channel this gift that is out of our control we can share our creativity with the world. How do you think we can change our dysfunction into the blessing it was meant to be?
If you try to use it for good it might help us to have more control. Like if we made music or wrote books. My stories have a lot of the same kind of endings. Different things happen but most of my life it is repeated exciting stories with new people in different cities. I think people would be bored but to me it is colorful and excitement.
