Well, obviously I'm new here :) I just want to start of by asking a quick question...How old are a majority of the people who have MD? I feel like I might be one of the youngest.

Hi Mattie, I'm 20.

I'm pretty sure that I've been doing this since preschool!

I'm 16 and I've been doing it for as long as I can remember.
I'm new here too, and I'm 15.
I'm almost 24, and I rebember myself daydreaming (without realizing what I was doing of course, as it didn't catch my attention as an "issue" and odd thing until I started to mature mentally in my teen years) since  I was 6 at least, at that age I can certanly know I did it and never stopped after.

Pfft!

I'm 21 and I have been doing this since I was a young child. I guess MD sticks around to keep you happy when you need it.

I'm 35, and I've been suffering from MD for what seems like forever...

I'm 28 and have been daydreaming for at least half that time.

Sallyann - Yes, I wonder what goes on in people's minds that don't have this - that's just one thing that I cannot imagine.

I am in my 60's but have been daydreaming since I can remember.  Didn't even know it was anything unusual until recently. Have always led a full life with many "actual" friends" and see no reason to alter this behavior.  I feel sorry for people who don't have this great gift, and so have to settle for an ordinary life.  I much prefer the thrilling.

Ever since I can remember, I've had a vivid imagination, but it's only gotten to the point that I prefer the life I create in my head to the life I live since around 15 or 16 years old. I used to be able to keep it under control, but here I am. :) I'm 18, now.

Hi, I am 33.  I have had this since I was an infant, before I could even move or walk.

I had a bald spot on my head from banging my head in my crib, as soon as I could climb out I would climb out of my crib in the middle of the night and rock in my rocking chair and listen to my Mickey Mouse record.

I also had (and have again, recently rediagnosed yet again in the last year) epilepsy starting when I was 3 1/2 that we know of but possibly starting at age 2.

My drs told my parents I would most likely grow out of it but I never did.

I'm 18, had it since I was a toddler.
I am 38.  Really feel old compared to everyone else.  I have been dealing with this my entire life.  As long as I can remember I have created another world to live in.  A safe one where I can talk to people about how I feel and those people genuinely care.  Can't thank Cordellia enough for this sight.  After 38 years of feeling slightly insane and keeping this secret it's so relieving to know I'm not the only one.  It takes its toll on you.  Feeling the emotions of the real world and my fantasy one too.  Wears me out sometimes.  And I ramble.....

Hi there Mattie!

When I think back to it, my MD started when I was 8 years old when I got my first CD player. I think for a lot of us MD starts young, but I can see that it could be triggered later in life, as well. I'm 22 now and preparing to become a high school teacher--so I think we're all walks of life in here :)
