Hey my names Elle, I'm 18, and like most of you i've being daydreaming since is was young. It'so good to be able to talk to other people about this, so i have a few questions :)

 1) I'm now in my final year of school with my last exams 3 weeks away and was wondering if MD affects anyones ability to concentrate and study?

2) Do you find MD has affected your social life? I have a big group of friends and love social events but after a few hours i find myself making up excuses so i can go home and be alone.

3) i daydream all through the day but mostly at night listening to music for hours which leaves me really tired and in a bad cycle. Most of daydreams are centered around me, are anyone elses? And whilst some are happy most of them involve pain or a hard life or getting hurt.

4) this is really emabrrasing but also is anyone in a relationship and find it hard to "be all there" all the time whilst with that person. I feel like i create such high expectations in my head about people which makes it hard because the perfect person doesnt exist.

Thankyou for reading this and i'd really appreiciate your thoughts.

Elle xx

"2) I've always had a small social circle, mix of many things-including many years of homeschooling. But i've noticed I definitely almost always prefer being alone than hanging out with most of my friends (minus one)."

This has made me feel so much better!

I relate to everything you said.  In terms of studying, pretend your DD persona is studying and any "friends" are helping out.  At least, that's what I always did, and it worked for most part.  They became a part of most things I did; this allowed me to get a lot of things done.

My DD's are always centered around me & the current romantic obsession, with a supporting cast of characters that can be quite small or huge, depending.  These are long-standing, on-going stories, so to keep them interesting, there is always some conflict & drama, just like in any good novel or movie.  Thus a lot of hardships are introduced.  This seems pretty typical, i think.

My only real regret is that it has taken me away from my "real" relationships.  I think it is the price I have had to pay, and unfortunately they have had to also.
