So I just told my mom about my MD. I also showed her this site and had her read the explanation of MD on the home page. She took it really well. She asked me how often I daydream and I told her that it depends/varies - which is true. She also said that I can't dream my life away though I already know that. That's part of the reason why I'm here on this site. I'm not ready for my dad to know though. He and I don't have a very good relationship. We argue a lot. Anyways just wanted to share that.

Wow... you're brave! I often wish my family knew about my MD, but I think they'd probably freak out. They probably wouldn't understand it. I don't know if telling them would really help me anyway, but I hate being alone.

apparently there is a connection between MD and childhood issues or any other form of distraction. I remember speaking to a Buddhist teacher about my MD because i couldn't stop it. He said it was linked and I agree. It's like a form of escapism but it turns into a habit.

My dad IS really stubborn. He needs hard evidence before he will ever admit that he is wrong. My dad and I first started arguing when I was 14 - that same age that I started DDing. I wonder if the arguing is what brought on the DD?
