Maladaptive Daydreaming: where wild minds come to rest
Hi! I'm Maddie, I am 14 years old, and I am new to this website, I don't really know what to say, there is just so much.
I first started to daydream about different worlds, characters and plots when I was little. Some nights I wanted to keep going with my story I wouldn't get much sleep at all. My parents just said 'I had an over reactive imagination.'
Anyway, I would start a story, and when ever I was bored, mad, or sad I would add a little more. I always added some more every night before bed.
Most of my daydreams are in different worlds that are in books or movies, but I make new characters. Some daydreams are taken place in my own world I made for my novel. And like I said I would add to it every night.
I also have a voice in m head, it's not scary or creepy, but it's not me thinking to myself. The voice doesn't have a name or anything, but we argue a lot. I don't know when I first heard the voice, probably when I was little... Maybe 5? Anyway, when I first heard it I wasn't scared, I knew it would be my friend, and it wasn't creepy. It has been one of my best friends in quarantine.
I first heard about Maladaptive Daydreaming in a video, and I related to that video so well that I had to do more research and that is when I found this website. So... Hello.
