Hello!

My name is Rachel S. I am 20 year old woman who recently decided to try and figure out what was going on inside her head.

As far back as I can remember I have had a very vivid imagination but I never thought anything about it until recently. Obviously I have known that there is something different about me, but I didn't want to believe that there could be a problem with my brain. My daydreaming is something that brings me happiness.

Music is my trigger. I could listen to my ipod and pase my room for hours, and i do. I want to be able to get rid of this, however, I am terrified of not being able to daydream like I do now. I constantly wonder what do 'normal' people think about as the day goes on.

Hopefully I can start to understand this condition more and maybe channel it into something creative and  productive.

I am excited to start to get to know all of you and I hope to make lasting friends :)

Hi, Rachel. Welcome to wildminds. Isn't it shocking to know other people have MD? Well, I hope you eventually post your entire story. I've learned a lot about my self from reading the stories of other people who developed MD as a child too.

Hi, welocme!

"I am terrified of not being able to daydream like I do now"- there are two types of daydreams: fantasies, and the "phantasms" which are the maladaptive fantasies; from my experience they are quite different and the first are artistic and productive, the later are compulsive and repetitive, and have no artistic value; you can decide which daydreams are fantasies and which phantasms and can choose which ones you want to keep, maybe the productive ones will increase in number after you get rid of phantasms. Good luck!
