So, I told my family about MD. Well I told my sister first. Her response was that its not dangerous, so don't worry about it. Well a week later, I tell my sister, I'm going to tell mom about it. My sister responds with dont, it's not important. I go and tell my mom about it anyway. She tells me the same thing with different words, about how it's not dangerous. They both never search it up, they just put a label on it and looks away.

Hi Selina, I hope you won't let what others think discourage you. They've never experienced what you experience, so if they don't understand, that's understandable. I just told my sister about my MD last night, and it was the scariest conversation I've ever had. Coming out and telling someone about your personal struggles is a brave thing to do. :)

What did you tell them about MD? I know that my daydreaming is very disruptive, and if you experience it in the same way, and if you haven't told them so, I suggest you do. If it's disruptive, if it takes hours out of your days, if it's preventing you from moving forward in your real life, it's dangerous. I hate to hear stories of how MD has taken over people's lives and they've basically daydreamed their lives away. I don't mean to frighten you, but MD IS a problem that shouldn't be ignored, and I believe your mom and sister should understand that. Maybe if you asked them to put themselves in your shoes for a moment and tell them WHY you see MD as a serious problem, they might come to understand. Just saying "I daydream a lot" doesn't sound alarming to someone who doesn't have MD.
