I'm a fashion design major, and the things my characters wear always have a lot of emphasis. It's actually always been like that, for some reason. When I was trying to decide what route I wanted to take in school, it took a long time of trying to concentrate on figuring out what it was that I loved, so I could pursue a career that I'm passionate about. Of course, instead of concentrating on anything, daydreaming happened, and then I decided I wanted to incorporate them (aka, what I love) into my art.

The first thing I did was redesign some old shoes of mine into an exact replica of the one's that one of my main characters wears all the time. I now feel like I have a little piece of them lying around. I see them on the floor and think "those are so-and-so's" and instead of being totally creepy, which it sounds like, it actually is really heart-warming to me.

I've made a few pieces like this, and it makes me really happy just to have them. It's not that I'm desperate to actually try and bring non-existent people to life and delude myself into believing they're actually there or anything. The process behind it was more of: these people, real or not, are important to me and I want to show that I appreciate them, and make decent use of the time and effort I put into this world.

I think I want to use my daydream world as a "theme" for my fashion design projects, and maybe make a printed booklet or flash site explaining the outfit and the fictional person I designed who wears/uses it, and how it is functional in their world. Maybe for people who ask, or if I can find a way to go about it, use it as a way to bring more light and exposure MD.

Does anyone else have any experience with this? Or have set some kind of goal for it?

Wow that is so kool!!! Good for you! :D  I am hoping to put my MDD into my art. I Have drawn or tried to draw a character from my imagination. Also writing stories about them. I am hoping to write a book or draw a graphic novel one day. I want the world to see the world in my mind and i want people to experience what i see.
A graphic novel would be awesome! I tried to draw my character the other day, it looks ridiculous because I have no previous experience with figure drawing, haha. I am taking a lot of classes for it though, so we'll see!

I did a painting of one of my characters. I have it uploaded to my page.
