Hi Cordelia, I tried mailing this to you but ti didn't work :/ I just wanted to ask you another question about MD. When your day-dreaming quite heavily, would loud noises in reality disturb the day-dream, be incorporated into the DD, have no effect or does it cause something else?
Yours sincerely,
Zoe
Hi! I found you on YouTube a while back and for some reason my MD is just getting out of control. Just kinda need someone to talk to about it :) I just joined this site today as well as another called experience project. I am pretty excited that I found out there are lots of other ppl out there that have this same thing going on. Anyways if you have time just message me back we can swap stories :) My name is Tonya by the way :D
Thanks Cordellia. This website is much appreciated. Not sure how bad my own case is. But I'm curious why you cannot stand people: are they too boring?
If I look back on school, it's important for me to realize that I was put in class with many people that were interested in things I did not care about at all, such as drinking and dancing in the disco. This alienated me, my worst experience was being in that disco...horrible.
Partially it was a matter of finding like-minded people later in life, took a very long time. But it is important when connecting with somebody to let go of value judgments which is extremely hard if you loath some the things somebody loves or disapprove of lifestyle. I do like to psycho analyse other people...even when I hate them. They don't bore me unless they say nothing (or virtually nothing).
For me it's like I'm growing more tolerant and interested in others but still the majority of people is extremely judgmental and women just disqualify me as a potential mate as soon as a hint of social awkwardness is discovered. It doesn't seem fair.
I'd like to respond but since I think it could help everyone, I decided to blog my answer (soon). So far, your site has been quite an outlet and apparently I write like crazy and feel the need to apologize for the mere size of my pieces, although it's not really needed. But I cannot dose my writings like you cannot dose your daydreaming. It's the same.
Hello Cordellia! Thank you so much for the approval, I really hope to understand or even find a solution for my problem here. Just like you, I thought I was alone during all those years, it will be great to be a part of the forum!
I just have to ask ... how in the world did you summon up the courage to be the trail blazer for this? It looks as if you are only a little bit younger than myself, but I'm certain you remember how things were in the 80's ... being different was considered cool, but certain things (such as "head in the clouds space cadet" syndrome) were never considered cool. You learned very early on to not discuss it with your family or friends ... How in the world did you find that bravery? You even have YT videos on the subject. Will you continue making those videos? Forty long, long years ... and you are open about it. WOW. I know it sounds a little corny, but I think this would qualify you as being a hero in this sense.
Thank you :) I am hoping this place can offer me more insight. I only found out about MDD about a week ago. I have had it since I was about 4-5 years old and now I started seeing a psychiatrist recently. I have not mentioned MDD to my psychiatrist yet, but I will when I see her this week. Hopefully she knows about MDD *fingers crossed*
Thank you cordellia! Thats what i was about to ask u. Something didnt set right when i seen his account was created TODAY and nothing was on it.I will let u know if i get anymore!
Thank you so much, I struggled with this. And I tried to research to find out what disorder I have. Now I'm a little more relieved that I'm not the only one and now I know what it is.
Hi Cordellia, you have a scammer on the site Mary you just welcomed her an hour ago and she contacted me to email her marymabou0074@yahoo.com
I looked it up and it was on google for scams.
Thank you for creating the site! Looks like an interesting place. I'm definitely planning on being more active here once real life stops being so obtrusive! ;-)
Hello, my name is Remus and I also suffer from MD; I would like to share with others some methods which really worked for me, so thank you for creating this site. I would like to talk to you as soon as I can.
hello I'm from Mexico I'm not so fluent in english but I can understand well, I was wondering if I can get support to reduce the level of daydream and increase level of focusing when I'm Reading or learning something new. I'd be really glad if I can talk with people that have had the same trouble like me, and getting more friends able to give advices for improving myself. it suppose some people think daydreaming is not a disease, but may be they dont understand the real cost in our life development, I like this blog and I hope to learn and contribute as much we need it.
Thank you, I've done this my entire life and always thought that I was just strange and NEVER thought of telling anyone about it, until a few weeks ago I googled extreme daydreaming. I am so glad to have found this site <3
