My favorite music to daydream to is by the band Katatonia. Listen to the song "Burn the Rememberance." I am convinced that the man who wrote the lyrics for these songs also has maladaptive daydreaming.

I find songs that my characters can relate to in a certain scene, and I listen to that song while daydreaming. I mainly use Evanescence, because I was obsessed with them when I started to DD and the songs fit my characters really well. I am really glad to know that I am not the only one who does this.

Hello! For me it's any kind of music. Usually in my dreams, I am the ideal person i dream of- physically fit, beautiful and tons of friends. I'm usually dancing with everybody being fascinated by me or I'm living my dream of owning a farm and being completely off the grid. I also dream about solving major world problems like hunger or inventing some tool that will help people. I also dream about being in love as I never have been. They are generally always positive. I rarely have negative ones.

Music is my number one trigger. I can MDD without it, but not as much and as in detail as my daydreams. I actually have thought about cutting up my headphones or not buying anymore when the ones I have now die.

I start to daydream then I find myself seeking my ipod,I keep playing different songs and repeat some of them with a different scenario.I wanted to control this ,so I deleted all the songs in ipod and on my laptop. The problem is that after that I find myself surfing the web for songs once again.

aseel,
I do the exact same thing im actually going to try to start a method that cuts down my daydreaming and triggers to stop my daydreaming. The first thing getting rid of my headphones.

I have various daydreams, or I guess "worlds," as I refer to them. I have music that goes along with each one, and that would be the music that the me in the daydream would enjoy. I don't necessarily have one scene or daydream that attaches to the music. It's mostly the particular life in general. It got to the point that I won't allow myself to mix the songs between daydreams. If I got a song stuck in my head during a certain daydream, I would force myself to imagine a different song.
It's sad because I love the music that I use, and I want to listen to it, but I want to be able to cut out the memories of my daydreams that I have tied to it without feeling bad about it.

So, I've been downloading music with the intention to put it on my phone for myself to listen to....without the DDing. I've been noticing that as much as I enjoy a lot of the music I've found over the years, so much of it is attached to my DDs. I have tried to make sure that I download the song for the song and not the DD. Basically, my music collection is that of my various DD mes, and not me me.
One of many things that I've became lost about...

This fits me like a glove. All my life art has triggered my DD's. However; music, movies, books are my main triggers. Music being my number one trigger, still at times movies take the number one spot in fueling my DD's, because it proves an actual visual...(people/sounds. scenery) to help me create new or improve people or things who live in my head. I am so grateful that I found wildminds.

Music is pretty much the #1 trigger for DD's for me. I start thinking up scenarios like in a movie or a video and I have to replay them several times so that they're perfect all the while I pace back and forth in a diagonal line in my room, this happens several times a day and accumulates up to a few hours each day.

Music is my number one trigger for daydreaming, so I tend to listen to music often. When I'm riding in a car during long trips (or even short ones), I'm always, as my parents would say, "plugged in." I could listen to my music and immerse myself into my mind's world for hours and not become bored. After a while, though, I may become tired or get a headache, and I will take a break from both my music and my DDing for a while.

I think I listen to my music so much that I can play different songs in my head at random times during the day (at the moment, "Winter" by Daughter is playing). I've also noticed that every time I wake up in the morning, there's always a random song playing in my head. I usually take it as my mind telling me that it's time to wake up.

Music is a huge trigger for me. I see that's a big one for others as well. If I hear a song somewhere I HAVE to find it to finish the daydreams or it will bother me for days or even weeks. Like Camryn said, I have scenarios pop into my head from hearing songs and I have to listen to the songs over and over until I perfect it. But I can't pace or I walk into a wall lol. :) I love Imagine Dragons (especially Round and Round), American Authors, a few of Wake Owls', and some other scattered artists. Strangely, Linkin Parks' "Shadow of the Day" song stops all daydreaming that's going on in my mind. I feel completing focused on life and it clears everything out of my head except for the music.

Rock and metal usually trigger my DD, I usually either make up a story or create "music videos" in my head. It can be embarrassing in public cause I unknowingly make facial and body gestures to go with my story.

Music really influences my daydreams. I build whole subplots bases on songs. I decided that maybe to express my daydreams in a way i may feel more comfortable then talking, i could start writing songs. What do you think?

Music is the main trigger for my daydreaming, I often imagine myself in a band and that they're singing the song I listen to or if it fits to a scenario. I also like to listen to movie soundtrack since the best scenarios come up then.
