Hi to everyone, hope you're all doing great! Anyways, I found that although I dont daydream as fantastically as I used to, I definitely do a lot of overthinking. It's like my brain never shuts off, and I start thinking of the past and people around me and all this weird stuff. Could there be a correlation between MD and these annoying, racing thoughts?

Well I know that half of a MDer's thoughts are of Daydreams, which amounts to about 2,000 segments a day. MDD is a completely mental activity that is made by thoughts, so I think they are related hand in hand.

Probably, in my experience MD is caused by that kind of thoughts. I think it's sort of natural: something happened in the past, it wasn't supposed to happen but you can't change the past, so you create another world where things went the right way. No one likes it when things go wrong.

There might be. My experience is a lot of MDs have anxiety. Overthinking is a classic symptom of anxiety. Also, thinking a lot about the past is called ruminating - going over and over on past events, or recent, or even future. It is also a symptom.
