I think the cartoon is really neat, but I have to agree with Pareidolia too. At first I was thinking...yeah, it'd be easier to explain MD if I showed them this. But I don't want to present myself as hopeless since I do care about life and I do have fun. I would change the words on it first or something, haha.

I agree with you Pareidolia, the picture promotes the idea of using imagination to escape from life. I posted it because I think it shows my reality (and many other's reality) as a maladaptive daydreamer.

Don't misunderstand me, of course I want to better (correct grammar?) myself in real life by developing skills, finding love and becoming a succesful professional (and many other goals). But I think this picture shows an aspect (a good one) of maladaptive daydreaming which is evading reality when not everything is okay, relaxing by daydreaming.

So... IMPROVING yourself in REAL life is important, but daydreaming is a plus (and it should be just a plus) if you can "control" it enough (most of us can't included myself) so that you aren't very improductive/procrastinator as I am right now (That's why I want to reduce my dd, but not get rid of it completely) because you can get things from it that you can´t get in real life like relaxing after a hard real-life day which makes good to your real life (or even superpowers xD).

I admit, I'm addicted to this drug haha

That last sentence I ended up misreading the first time, and I realized that even though I know that it's bullsht, I actually feel like I am being productive with DD, even if I'm just repeating a scenario for the gazillionth time, or one that I know won't last but is fun for the time being or has nothing to do with anything and so is definitely not productive, it feels like it is.
