Daydreaming in itself (and just thinking) is probably inherently good, but for people with Maladaptive Daydreaming (maladaptive meaning it interferes with your life), it can become a real addiction with devastating consequences.  This doesn't mean we should all panic.  Just be aware of the good and the risks because the addiction part can sneak up on you.  Appreciate it and enjoy it for its benefits, but make sure you get out and keep a fulfilling outer life as well.  Use it as much as you can, but try not to let it control you.  :)  Hope that helps.

Interesting question.  Usually when someone asks me a question, I end up changing my answer a few times as I think about it more, so bear with me.  Well, I've never been good at picturing places in great detail.  Same thing for faces.  I see them clearly, but it's hard for me to make them very distinct and realistic.  My daydreams are more about feelings.  I feel things VERY strongly in them.  I even produce physical reactions based on the feelings.  I would say my daydreams are much less visual than intellectual and emotional.

Recently I tried writing again and didn't even bother to describe the setting or the characters.  It's just not natural to me.  It was much more about the conversation and the feelings.  Hope that makes sense.
