I'm pretty sure that PTSD affects my daydreaming. In real life it's difficult for me to have a relationship due to being molested as a child. In my daydreams this person really loves me and helps me overcome my pain from the past. He loves me for who I am and finds value in me.

Perhaps my MD is caused by isolation.  I was raised by a family that is distant from little ones.  I was loved and cared for but interaction was limited to "go play".

MD is the arena where I have a social life.  I've had this since I was very little.  I remember DDing around age 4.

Although I believe I had MD before, a traumatic incident with a car lead to my getting PTSD and made my MD more frequent and dependable. without MD i believe i would experience the true trauma caused by the accident.
