What type of occupation would suit for people like us ? . I would really like to do a job where communication skills are not much required. Any suggestions

Computers. I'm retired now, gratefully. Computer jobs at night. High dollars and few people.

I believe any job could fit MDD

the point is to control our DD, there is no way you or I can be successful and get a high paying job unless we FOCUS, live in the moment!

if we fell into our imaginary world and escaped the reality then we would NEVER be productive at anything, literally our lives would be a waste of time.

we need to control our DD.

I tried meditation and it works perfectly well for me, you only need to mediate for FIVE minute a day! No big deal right?

I also tried this exercise to improve my attention and make me more focused and it was amaaaaazing!

You need to watch the clock, for ONE minute without thinking about anything, you only are allowed to think about the clock, it's color, the numbers, but not anything else whatsoever.

best regards

I agree. MD (for me) is an escape from reality because it is not so gratifying as what I can imagine, but I also know that in order to have a gratifying life I will have to face the things I am escaping from, so it becomes vicious cycling.

I don't have the answers for everyone! but I do hope that if we find career paths that match up well with our unique selves, then that can be one of the things that helps create a more gratifying life.

If an MDer personally prefer jobs with less people interaction, then I think they should pursue that, just ensure that they are pursuing for the right reasons? For me, hiding from others does not help me overcome, however much I'd prefer it moment to moment.

Finding the right career for you is so tricky!

I have been struggling to find satisfaction and happiness in my career for a long time now, and have changed careers several times to try to "fix" things.

I think one of the major things I have figured out is that I need to choose a career that doesn't push my BIG stress buttons and encourage avoidance of real life and escape in my MDD. Instead a career that I can be content in to suit my main personal traits (character).

Through my past challenges I realised I need a job that requires some social communication, but not too much (dangerous to self isolate too much). Also, as I use MDD to "control" my life and emotions in a sense, I am looking for work that I can feel in control and competent in.

I am now changing to bookkeeping/accounting (currently studying). Then I think it is not just the "career" that is important, but the type of workplace too. Whether it is a workplace you can feel comfortable and supported in.

But further to trying to get a job that contributes positively to your life, the major thing I realised recently is that my career can't be the whole or central focus in meeting our personal needs. It is just one part that is likely to change as we and our circumstances change.

How we deal with our personal challenges, circumstances and choices such as a job I think will be very different for each person. I think it is just really important to reflect and think about why you want something and what is really good for you and not.

Good luck, and remember I decision you make today isn't set in stone for the rest of our lives!
