Sometimes I daydream while listening to music and moving around, but I can daydream without doing that and usually try to. If I listen to music what I'm daydreaming about has to go along with the music, so if a song totally different from the last one I listened to comes on it makes my daydream suddenly change (which gets really annoying and sometimes disturbing if the song is scary). And once when I was about 7 I injured myself by smacking into a wall because I started full-on sprinting during…

When I am pacing, I find it more difficult to daydream with music. I end up making me or my other characters sing the songs. For some reason my mind is much more free when I am moving around in public, but in cars, buses, trains and on the swings if people are too close to me I find it distracting and can't relax. I have no idea why I'm not as creative in daydreams when I have privacy.

Cordellia Amethyste Rose said:…

I have been doing the swing and music thing since I was very young too! I cannot go past 2 hours though, as I become nauseated and find it difficult to walk. I don't have decent access to the swings anymore since the sudden flood of children in my neighborhood (and I am 21 so I am not going to hog the swings from five year olds), so usually I go for a brisk walk with music and get agitated if I can't. I daydream in cars, buses and subways as well. I get very upset if the car/train/bus ride is too short (I love the car ride from NY to PA or all the buses and trains from NY to NJ. I also got to ride from PA to Fl. But my music player died out long before the trip ended) At night I pace, gesture, and mumble but I much prefer swings and transportation. I find I can visualize easier that way. I tend to repeat scenes when I'm confined to pacing.

My daydreams are usually happier subject matters since I deal with some of the things in your list in life and like to get away from all that. They tend to involve romance and tight friendships
As a child, I would pace whil…tag:wildminds.ning.com,2014-01-25:4661400:Comment:1713062014-01-25T04:04:58.661ZOhMyMagentahttps://wildminds.ning.com/profile/OhMyMagenta
As a child, I would pace while listening to music on a boombox. This drove my mother mad, so she bought me headphones and a cushion to sit on with the hope of curtailing that behavior. Initially, this was very uncomfortable and I found it difficult to engage in daydreaming at all. Eventually I learned to adapt to my new constrictions and have not paced since then. Now I just DD while I'm sitting on my couch with my iPod.

It's common to listen to music and enact some sort of movement while daydreaming. As a child, during recess every day, I'd sit on the swings and daydream, too. Unlike some people, I have trouble daydreaming while listening to music unless my character is singing that music, but I think I'm in the minority.
