I have NEVER had an actual dream about my daydreams (that I can remember). I've been fantasizing my whole life and I have never had a dream about the characters in my fantasy world or any of the stories I've created in it. I have spent so much time over the years daydreaming, and have created so much detail in my fantasy world yet none of it has ever come up in my actual dreams. I find this interesting and was wondering how it works for other people......

Strangely enough, I have dreamed about my daydreams a couple of times before. Both times I woke up feeling quite distressed and scared because I realized that my mind is seeing my daydreams as reality and so it is flashing those false reality images in dreams. Kind of scary. Both of those times they happened within the past couple of months or so! Before this it has never happened before.
That is interesting...to think that dreaming about your daydreams means your mind sees them as reality. This really makes me think more about my daydreaming...
Hi there. Sorry to respond so late. I've been meaning to respond for awhile. I've been daydreaming for all my life, too. I do it constantly & so often that I don't even notice half the time. It wasn't until recently that my daydream characters have made their way into my night time dreams. I'm surprised it took so long, but I was glad it hadn't as well. I see this as a progression of this problem. I always feared one day I'd go completely batty & start forgetting what was real & what wasn't. It worries me this could happen one day if I'm not careful. It's only happened a few times that I can remember. However we forget most of our dreams. Some say we dream 7-8 times a night & how could we remember them all? I only remember my dreams if there's a recurring theme throughout the night or if I'm having one right when I wake up in the AM. Who knows how many times I've really dreamed about them? This could be more common than I or any of us realize. I hope this isn't a sign of reality blurring. I'm more active in my outer life than before & that's good. The bad news is I'm not daydreaming any less. I'm just fighting harder & more active in both. I hope I can keep the realities separate & don't one day blurt out a story from my fantasy world to a group, forgetting that it didn't really happen.
hi guys, I just found this site. I have never ever dreamed about my daydreams. However I have taken my dreams and continued the stories in them into daydreams (if that makes sense)
I have not had my fanstasy life folks appear in my dreams. I have had dreams where I find a huge box full of pictures of my fantasy person... When I was married, I was always scared that I would dream and say the name of my fantasy person aloud and my husband would hear it.....Dumb, huh? How the hell would I explain that?
wow since i saw this post ive only just thought about this and its true ive never dreamt about it either maybe its something to do with the level of consciousness because they were saying when we do this we're actually close to conscious and were fully aware that we are actually awake so its not the same as when were asleep. ive never spoken to anyone about it so id have no idea if people are the same
I think I have dreamed about my daydreams. Particularly when at that cross-over stage between sleep and wakefulness when you're dreaming but can influence the dreams. And I do remember things from my dreams as if they actually happened. My memory can also be quite poor, so that I forget what has happened and remember my dreams instead, which is - frankly - not v useful.
I have had only two dreams about my daydreams that I can remember. When I had the dreams the 'plot' was still pretty much the same...Actually, everything in the dreams were the same. But, and I don't know if this has anything to do with it, when I had both the dreams I was away from my house, where I frequently have my daydreams.
Yes, I have dreamed about my daydreams. I found it very strange to actually see them like it was a real movie. I woke up in shock i was like omg  did i just see my story I just created a movie in my head lol. :¬)

I've had dreams of my daydreams about a million times, only my daydreams are on my favorite books.

Oh and on my writing.

Sometimes my characters show up in dreams, but since my "main" characters are usually just versions of myself that I want to be, it actually makes me feel better. I remember one dream, where I realized it was a dream, and I changed myself INTO the character I wanted to be, and kicked ass!...it was a good dream.

I've dreamed about my daydreams , It's kinda deppressing because , these dreams happen when I've read about some subject relating to psycology , witch ends up me felling ashamed of my MD and in my dream I try to talk to people about it as It was a mental issue(It kinda is but you get where I'm going with this)  and talking to a shrink , in my dream XD , so yeah I've dreamed about it , and maybe I think once , when I was dreaming , I had a dream of daydreaming in my dream , its like a dream in a dream XD Its complicated lol ... Yeah long story short .
