I want to get this off my chest as I don't talk about my MD to people I know....

I feel like my low self confidence causes me to daydream a lot abd in turn my daydreams cause me to have low self confidence... Hence the title - vicious cycle!

Any advice on how to break it... I just wanna be brave and confident in myself enough to live in the real world.

I told my super close friends my secret, and I only have three secrets, so it's kinda big, but I never regret it, for one of my friends is clinically depressed, the other is half-goth, and the other... well I told her because she knows another one of my three secrets.

Aw thanks for the replies and advice guys!

Mubashra that is so true I should try and participate in activities, I've been thinking of  hobbies I might start so I'll definitely try being around people more thanks :)

Source - I've found over the years I daydream nearly always, the only time it's minimal and I can really take in life is when I am really focused like studying and looking after children. I've been thinking of going back to uni for a Masters but I can't study forever I guess haha:(

John- that sounds like a really good idea I might give that a try!

In order to be able to live in the real world, you have to find a spot in it where you can live. Be it an actual place or a certain kind of company or whatever it is, you have to find it first, and you're the only one who can know what it is. Only then you'll have a reason to go and conquer your place.

I guess to live in the real world, you've got to go out in the real world. Try engaging with people, participating in activities. Don't hurry it, take it slow. It might seem hard, especially in the beginning, but I feel the only way to do things you're scared of doing is to just clench your teeth and do it. But remember MDD is nothing to be ashamed or afraid of, and you're doing nothing wrong. Maybe you could also try channeling your DD's in a more positive direction. Anything that helps :)
