mladaptive daydreaming and drugs......

Maybe its just me but when I drink, its like the urge to DD goes away. Well not completely go away but the urges subsize in a way. I feel no pressure from the outside world. Well, you probably know how it feels to drink anywway. everything seems how could you say it.........easier in some way.

Anyways back to the point, for the first time i started eeing a phyccologist and she diagnosed me with anxiety, which in her point of view causes my DD. I know alcohol is deppressent, so it could it really be that my DD are a cause of anxiety? Has anybody else ever experience this?

I've found that smoking pot allows for my mind to wander and daydream more than I might want it to. The day dreams are very fun, but I do feel like it has impacted everyday life.

Same here, when I drink I just feel the urge to make a fool out of myself instead

Yeah, kind of like that Joshua. I dont know if its because everything seems more apealling (different, kind of like your in a dream) or well "brian chemistry." My doctor is barely starting me on Fluoxetine 10mg, so far my compulsions DD have lessened a little but not much. But we'll see if maybe it is just how the brain is working in a couple of weeks when she ups my dose a little more.

I've also experianced this, never when drinking just do to i only drink socially, but I smoke Marijuana, and when i do I also don't have the urges to DD as bad, I dont know if It's  because I'm less bored or because there is other things effecting my brain chemistry, but it effects me the same as drinking does you.

I think it would depend on what exactly is in your DD's. If it's stressful content, I have no doubts at all that it could trigger anxiety.
