I didn't tell her about my MD. I just told her about my occasional bouts of anxiety and depression. I was saying it in a bit of a joking manner because I figured she wouldn't take me seriously if I asked to be put on Prozac or something. But after I told her, she told me that depression runs in my family and [in a non-sadist manner] I was excited. For two reasons;

  1. She actually listened to me! And even considered the pills, which I really hope I don't have to take, but if it gets worse, I might not have a choice.
  2. I wasn't alone! Even other people in my family have had it. I sort of noticed this already, recalling a horrifying [and, thank God, unsuccessful] suicide attempt on the road by an uncle when I was 8 or 9.

I'm really glad I said something. Maybe it'll get better, because my anxiety only shows up every now and then [usually at the worst times] but my depression seems here to stay. Have you spoke to anyone about your MD or any other conditions you have? How'd it turn out [especially the MD]?

Yeah. Depression is one thing, considering she knows people who have it. But if I tell her about MD she'll just call it too much daydreaming.

Thats great.  Maybe you can work your way up to telling her about MD.  Speaking as a counselor, as far as meds go, they aren't so bad.  You'd be amazed at how much better they can make you feel.  And lots of people don't have to take them forever.  As for my own MD, haven't told anyone.  Not sure anyone would understand. Something I need to work on myself.
