Itch itch itch scratch scratch scratch. I am disgusting. My scalp is raw and red. I still don't stop. I don't know why. I am confined to a bed, chair, or car seat and cannot pace or dream. I need a physical outlet. My head is sore. Dermataliamania is a disorder linked to OCD. It is a horrid disorder in which one has the absolute need to scratch at the skin, pluck out cranial hair and peel off skin fragments. It sounds disgusting and looks worse but I do it anyway. I feel like worms are on me until I scratch them off. Once the deed is done I realize that what I thought were worms was actually my skin itself. The damage scarcely heals right and hair loss is imminent. Someday I wish to know if this disorder is somehow linked to MD. Some say that dermataliamania is also linked to bodydismorphia but I have never felt the need to do such things as that... Someday I'll know... Someday...

Daydreaming makes me stop scratching for lengthy periods of time... I don't know why, it just does, but if I refrain from daydreaming for a while my need to scratch increases rapidly and I find myself all scabbed up in the end... So daydreaming really helps even though it causes other troublesome behavior...

It's mental and in no way is irritation responsible for this... I am. It is in my mind...

That sounds horrible! Your skin is very irritated, and when the body is irritated, the person cannot stop scratching it. I think you should check with your doctor right away and ask how they can help. Or, you could search up your disorder on a trusted website and try to find some kind of medicine or cure to it.
