I was diagnosed with adult ADHD, a much overdue diagnosis.  I signed up for Mind Sparke training, which exercises your working memory to the point that you should be able to focus like a normal person, well almost.  It has been praised in the NY times.  It's competitor is called Cogmed, but is not as flexible and MUCH more expensive.

This does not necessarily exclude Maladaptive Daydreaming.  They could coincide.  Maybe my daydreaming is a product of my ADHD inattentive type.  Well, that's about all I have to update for now.

Yes, I do have ADHD, as my brain was scanned with a QEEG which provided the results to prove it.  My patterns of deficient Beta Waves with Excessive Theta Waves are typical of 85% of ADHD'ers.  The psychiatrist confirmed by looking at the charts that my brain activity is of typical ADHD.

As for my daydreams, while I am constantly in my own little world, their subject changes so often that I am not really focused.

I would not make that connection.  I wonder if you can concentrate on thoughts enough to block out reality can you really have ADHD?  If I focus on something, for instance reading a novel, I am completely unaware of my surroundings.  However if I am daydreaming and doing something else at the same time it is easy to lose my train of thought on the physical or repetative tasks.  I always make lists at work and check them off as I complete stuff because I do not retain any short term repetative memory.
